A gold widget for South Africa
South Africa's /gold page includes 24K, 22K, 18K and 9K per gram. The Krugerrand is a 22K coin, while 9K is very common in local jewellery. The widget supports 22K for gram values, but 9K is available only in the /gold table.
South African finance sites can use the ZAR widget as a spot reference beside coin information, while shops can place it beside jewellery details. It shows grams and troy ounces. For a Krugerrand, distinguish its fine gold content from its total alloy weight.
The gold content behind the price
The gold spot price is the basis for this value, which reflects gold content only. Dealer premium, making charges and tax are excluded. A shop includes these costs in its selling price.
Alongside the price, the card displays the update time and gold's twenty four hour percentage change. It updates by itself and links to goldprice.dev. The price on the card and the figures written in the page text are both fifteen minutes late, as of unavailable.
