Yes. Keyless XAU spot is 15 minutes late, limited to 10 requests/minute and 100/hour per IP. Free includes 5,000 calls/month at 10 requests/minute, XAU, XAG and HG spot, 30 days of daily history, and MCP access (dealer prices need Basic or above). No credit card required. Free permits commercial use.
Good API for commodity price data?
Yes. Every plan includes gold, silver, and copper spot (XAU, XAG, HG), with gold prices and conversions in 31 currencies. Every source is attributed. Basic at $19/mo adds live prices and dealer quotes.
Which sources feed the API?
Licensed spot prices (XAU + XAG + HG) and non-USD gold via USD spot × live exchangerate.dev FX. With ?include=sources, sources[] shows each contributing source.
Commercial use?
Every plan permits commercial use. The intact official gold price widget is free with visible attribution. Redistribution or reselling the data itself requires a separate deal: hello@goldprice.dev.
