Show a live gold price on a shop website

Add a free price card and explain that it shows the spot metal value

26 Oct 2026 · 2 min read

Show a live gold price on your shop website with a free iframe widget. It needs no sign up or API key and refreshes by itself. This page's written prices are fifteen minutes late, as of 26 Oct 2026, 04:43 UTC: unavailable per gram for 24K gold (99.9% pure) and unavailable for 22K, before making charges and GST.

  • Choose the currency, unit, karat, theme and language in the builder.
  • Paste the generated iframe into a page that accepts HTML.
  • Label the display as a price based on spot, separate from your shop's selling price.

Pick the widget settings

Open the gold price widget builder. Choose the currency and either troy ounces or grams. When the unit is grams, choose the karat as well. Select a light, dark or automatic theme and the language for your page.

The parameter table shows the available values and defaults. For the Indian shop example, choose rupees, grams and 22K. The gram price follows the selected purity, so check the unit and karat together before copying the generated snippet.

Copy the iframe snippet

The builder generates the iframe for your selected settings. Copy that snippet as HTML. The example below shows the 22K rupee price per gram, matching the jewellery shop example. It is not an ounce quote.

The embedded card shows the price based on spot, the change over the past twenty four hours and the update time. It refreshes itself and links to goldprice.dev. The card's prices and the written prices on this page are both fifteen minutes late.

HTML
<iframe src="https://goldprice.dev/embed/xau?currency=INR&unit=gram&karat=22&theme=auto&locale=en" title="Gold price" width="360" height="190" loading="lazy" style="border:0;width:100%;max-width:360px" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin"></iframe>

Paste it into your page

Add the snippet to a custom HTML block or another part of your website that accepts HTML. Save the page and open its public view to check that the iframe appears as a price card, not as visible code.

Place a short explanation beside it saying the figure is a metal value based on spot, with dealer premium and tax excluded. The widget states that basis too. Clear nearby wording helps visitors distinguish the reference price from the price your shop charges.

Check the mobile view

Open the page on a narrow screen and check the card, surrounding text and selected language. The card is at most 360 pixels wide and fits narrow screens. Check that your page's containing block also leaves room for it.

Confirm the currency, gram unit and karat in the displayed card. Check that the update time is visible and that the nearby explanation remains easy to read. A visitor should be able to identify the price basis without opening another page.

Explain your shop's selling price

The widget shows the spot value of gold content. It does not show your shop's selling price for a finished piece. Making charges, dealer premium and tax can change the total, so keep any product price clearly labelled beside its own details.

See the for the explanation for shops. To work from metal value to a finished piece's price, use jewellery price with making charges. Keep the item's weight and purity consistent with the reference gram price.

Questions

Do I need an API key to add the gold price widget?

The free gold price widget needs no API key or sign up. Choose your settings in the builder, copy the iframe and paste it into a website area that accepts HTML.

Can the widget show a 22K gold price in rupees?

Choose rupees as the currency, grams as the unit and 22K as the karat in the builder. The generated iframe displays that gram price based on spot, before dealer premium and tax.

Does the widget show my shop's selling price?

The widget shows a metal price based on spot, not your shop's selling price. Making charges, dealer premium and tax are separate. Explain that difference near the card so visitors can identify its basis.

Does the gold price widget update automatically?

Yes. The widget refreshes by itself and shows its update time with the price and the change over the past twenty four hours. Its prices and the written prices on this page are both fifteen minutes late.
