A gold widget for the UK
The UK gold page shows 24K, 22K, 18K and 9K prices. Hallmarks include 916 for 22K, 750 for 18K and 375 for 9K. A shop can use the supported 22K or 18K widget settings; the widget does not offer 9K.
A gold sovereign is 22K, while a Britannia is 24K, so use each coin's gold content for spot comparisons. UK coin and finance pages can show the GBP widget with gram or troy ounce values and explain any selling premium separately.
What this gold value covers
The value comes from the gold spot price and reflects gold content only. It excludes dealer premium, making charges and tax, which a shop's selling price includes.
