When you request the provenance array (`?include=sources` or `?include=all`), each entry of `sources[]` additionally carries its own `is_stale`, plus `source_timestamp` (upstream tick time) and `fetched_at` (our scrape time). The per-source staleness is computed as: `(now - fetched_at) > 2 * scraper.expected_interval_s`. A row is `is_stale=true` when every source feeding it is stale. A fresh fallback keeps a row live when the primary is stale. This model followed an outage on 2026-04-22. The prior logic had served 7-hour-old futures with `is_stale=false`. The redundant `timestamp` field was removed from `sources[]`; `source_timestamp` is the canonical upstream tick time (the value `timestamp` had duplicated). ## Commercial-use summary - **Free API access:** Commercial use permitted.
